ROST Roastery – Scandinavian coffee, ethically and with high quality
ROST Roastery was founded in 2016 out of a passion for producing coffee that suits Scandinavian tastes and that also stands up to ethical scrutiny. Before founding the roastery, we had over 20 years of experience serving cafes and importing high-quality coffee from around the world. However, along the way, we noticed challenges: it was often difficult to find coffee that suited the Nordic taste profile, the consistency of the coffees varied, and it was not always possible to verify their origin and sustainability.
From these observations, the idea arose: what if we could do everything better? Thus began ROST Roastery – a place where quality of service, consistency and ethically sustainable coffees (organic and Fairtrade) are at the core. In our daily work, we strive to develop our roastery and uphold our values, which support farmers, employees and customers alike. Our goal is to be a company that shares good spirits and tastier coffee.

CLEANLINESS – Eco-Friendly Roasting
We roast our coffee at our Lauttasaari roastery with an environmentally friendly Loring Kestrel S35 roaster, which uses up to 40% less gas and greenhouse gas emissions than traditional roasters. By choosing ROST coffee, you support sustainable development and environmental protection. Our consumer packaging made from recyclable materials is carbon offset, and we offer a Zero Waste concept for HoReCa customers.
RESPONSIBILITY – Coffee that stands up to ethical scrutiny
Responsibly produced coffee is a shared goal of the entire production chain – from farmer to consumer. We source our coffee beans as directly as possible from responsible producers, whose coffee we know exactly where it comes from. The majority of our coffee (90% in 2023) comes from Fair Trade and organic certified farmers. In addition, our farm coffee is produced on small farms that respect the environment, and we buy it directly from the farmers. This way, we can guarantee the quality and responsibility of the coffee, while supporting the farmers. We are constantly looking for new ways to promote a sustainable coffee culture and responsible coffee production from Helsinki.
TASTE – Roasting for a Scandinavian taste
We roast our coffee gently in Lauttasaari to preserve the diverse and delicate aromas of the coffee beans. This way, our coffees, which suit the Nordic taste profile, reach their full glory. Each roast batch is tasted and checked before it leaves for our customers, so that the taste experience is always perfect. Our most popular coffee is ROST Saari, a Fair Trade and organic certified organic coffee, which guarantees quality and responsibility.
