Saari is a dark roasted and soft organic filter coffee that is also Fair Trade. The coffee is full-bodied, chocolatey and its taste is enhanced by subtle notes of red berries. Saari is great as is or with the addition of milk, which brings forth full-bodied flavors of milk chocolate and nut.
Saari is a blend of two different coffees from Peru and Honduras. The Peruvian organic and Fair Trade arabica comes from the Sol & Café cooperative in the Cajamarca region. The aim of this farming community is to improve the living conditions of its members by focusing on the quality of coffee, which will also make operations more profitable for farmers. Sol & Café actively supports the well-being of its members, their families and the community by financially assisting in various acquisitions and renovations, supporting the protection and sustainable development of the living environment.
The Honduran component is hand picked by the smallholder farmers at Café Organica Marcala (COMSA) and is both organic and Fair Trade certified. COMSA supports farmers in developing know-how, which promotes efforts such as converting biowaste from coffee processing into organic fertilizer. In addition, the cooperative supports the well-being of the community by enabling children and young people to attend school.
