This fair trade and organic single-origin coffee comes from the Guatemalan region of El Quiché. The area is filled with many small family farms, and these families are often direct descendents of the Mayan people. During the Guatemalan civil war, the El Quiché region suffered badly, but today it has an incredibly sustainable agriculture and high-quality coffee cultivation that has led to a steady income, providing a sustainable foundation for future generations.
The coffee has typical characteristics of the area, such as fruitiness, fresh acidity and smooth sweetness. These flavors are accentuated by the medium-light roast, bringing out the Guatemalan chocolate and red apple acidity that shine brightly in this coffee.
